What I Wore
For Thanksgiving
Sweater - Old Navy/Black Jeans - Kohl's
Shoes - KMart/Necklace - Premier Designs
Over the course of time, ideas of what colors look good together changes. When I was a teenager, we moved into a house where my bedroom was pink, but the carpet was red. I remember we were amazed that someone had put pink walls with that color of carpet. But, now I would not only decorate using those two colors together, I would also wear the colors together. Another color combination that I used to think was not a good idea was putting black with brown. Well, this year for Thanksgiving those two colors were what I chose to wear while preparing and eating our dinner. Do you have any color combinations that you used to avoid that you now wear?
Sara, this is such a cute sweater and the good thing is that its so versatile. Love your leopard shoes :-). you look so pretty as always :-)

DeleteLove this look, and yes I wear black with brown and black with navy all the time now -- never as a younger woman : > Thanks for linking up with Visible Monday.
ReplyDeletePatti- so glad to have found your blog and the linkup!
Deletei do not believe in color restrictions. when i was young i was told not to wear red and blue together, today i love this combi. i love how you paired the brown sweater with the black pants. also your necklace is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the comment! I love that we have gotten past those days when people told us not to put certain colors together!
DeleteI think I often wore color combos that others did not. One of my favorites was butter yellow and burgundy. People were always astounded when I wore it and even more surprised that they liked it.
ReplyDeleteLove your outfit. It looks very chic with the leopard shoes.
Oh, Debbie, I think I will have to put together a butter yellow and burgundy outfit! Thanks for the comment!
DeleteI love pink and red--it sort of breaks the rules yet pink is just a tinted red!
ReplyDeleteI love orange and purple!
I am going to have to add more orange to my wardrobe, because I love purple and I now want to try out that color combination!
DeleteI'm with you in reveling in brown and black. Always thought it was a good idea, as it's seen so much in nature. You look so confident in this sweet and casual outfit. You'll wear it often!
ReplyDeleteI love that you brought up the fact that brown and black are seen in nature - no wonder it does work together well in what we wear!
