What I Wore
For a Halloween Costume
Jacket - Rue 21/T-shirt - Rue 21/Cargo Pants - Kohls
This posting is a bit unusual, in that I am wearing clothes from my closet, but I am dressing up as someone else. I don't know the last time I wore a costume for Halloween, but since we were encouraged to wear a costume for work because we were expecting trick-or-treaters, I decided to go for it. When I saw a few outfit pins inspired from Katniss Everdeen of The Hunger Games (as portrayed by Jennifer Lawrence), I thought this could not only be a comfortable costume, but one that would be easy to put together from items in my closet. Now, short blondish hair is not even close to giving the impression of Katniss, but, luckily, a coworker had the perfect wig (the coworker is the Love Goddess in the photo above). Never having worn a wig before, it was fun to see how easily I was transformed into a totally different person simply by putting on a dark wig. Now, however, I'm wondering...should I tell the hairdresser to make me a full out brunette?! Did you (or are you) dress up this year for Halloween?
You pulled that off perfectly! I was almost Katniss for Halloween - I love the books and have the long dark hair for it, but my husband wasn't a fan of being Peeta (or Gale, but I'm team Peeta.) Thanks for linking up with us!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Laura! I loved the books and think Jennifer Lawrence did a good job portraying Katniss. I'm team Peeta too!
DeleteAwww, I love your outfit Sara and it is funny how some hair can change the appearance of a person. I really like brown on you Sara :-). Thank you so much for your lovely comment yesterday :-) exciting that we are following each other now :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween :-)
