True Colors

Having a nice manicure and pedicure go a long way in helping to complete an outfit.  I would like to say I get my nails done by a professional frequently, but I just don't take the time to do it as often as I would need to maintain them.  So, I do my own nails most of the time.  However, because in the summer I do want long-lasting pedicures (hey, who is going to see those toes when I'm wearing socks all the time in the winter?) I prefer to have them done for me (so relaxing!). When I do my own nails, I like to try different colors and different brands of polish and I am always open to suggestions for a great new color (or a tried and true favorite).  Do you like to have your nails done, do you do them yourself, or do you prefer to go au naturale?  If you have a great color to suggest or want to share your favorite brand of polish, I'd love to hear about it.

  1. This top is really gorgeous.

I wish I could find the time for a manicure....I really don't do much with my nails except keep then short-ish and filed. I don't want anyone to touch my feet though and do my own pedicures! Not professional quality, but at least net and polished. The reason i don't allow anyone to touch my feet is because I don't want to risk any kind of foot problem, infection or injury, so I don't take chances with pedicures.

  2. Oh, such bright and cheery spring colour today. I love it! No snow, sunnies...I'm excited for spring.

I love Zoya polish and it's pretty much all I use.

  5. Love the brightness of your top; you look so Spring ready.

I've had a professional manicure three times and I loved it. I've never had a professional pedi though. I think that would rock!

  14. That top is so happy and spring-y. Love it.

I have been getting more into doing my own nails. I have to; almost any polish chips within a day or two on my fingers except for gels, and they look grown out so quickly that it makes me nuts. I'm better off doing my finger nails myself and changing them every day or two when I get bored.

As far as toe nails, I live in AZ - my toes are on display from March to October/November, so I tend to get pedicures about once a month and then change the polish a couple of times in between. It's time thing; I have a hard time finding the time to get them done...

I usually use Opi or Julep, but recently got the Urban Decay Naked collection of nail polishes and have been really pleased with them; they look great and stand up well to everything I put them through!
