Take a Bow

What I Wore

Sweater - Rue 21/Vest - (Thrifted)/Jeans - Lucky
Shoes - KMart/Earrings - Premier Jewelry/Necklaces - Gift/WalMart

I think awards shows are such fun events to watch.  I like to see the stars/performers and what everyone is wearing, watch the live performances, and listen to the acceptance speeches.  The weeks of January and February are full of awards shows like the Golden Globes, the Grammys, and of course the OSCARS.  Some of the awards shows serve as an introduction to a film, a show or a performer that I would not have known about if they hadn't been nominated for an award.  Having the ability to use websites to watch a video or learn more information about a performer has made discovering new art so easy, too.  I remember growing up in a very small town with no movie theatre, a television that got only the three major networks (ABC, CBS, NBC), and needing to get a ride to a town 30 miles away to buy a record (yes, I am old!), so having information at my fingertips is one more thing that makes watching award shows more enjoyable for me.  Do you like to watch the awards shows, do you watch certain ones but not others, do you watch for the red carpet only, or are you not really an award show watcher?

  1. You look great in the turquoise top, Sara. I do like awards shows, for the fashions, naturally, and if I have a favorite in the competitions (this year I love "Lincoln"). I have to mute the speeches though : > Thanks for linking up!

  4. The color of the sweater is beautiful on you.

I like awards shows, but sometimes I don't watch because the speeches can get long....

  5. I love awards shows! I'm an awards show junkie. I watch it all; the red carpet, the show, the after parties on E!. And since I'm in a household full of disinterested boys, I thank the heavens for social media so I can live tweet with my friends. Thanks for linking up to the hop!

  6. Pretty color! Love it. I like awards shows for things I'm familiar with, like the Oscars (b/c I love the movies), but not so much for things I'm unfamiliar with, like the Grammys, b/c I don't know who half the people are and I don't know their music!
Thanks for linking this up with the TALU!

  7. I still only get 3 major networks (by choice). What stinks is you still have to pay for it. I completely missed the grammy's but I'll tune in for the oscars.

  8. I love award shows! There is something about watching the clothes and hearing the gossip. I even like the next day best and worst dressed lists. It is so rare that you see people dressed up that it is fun to see what they wear.

  9. For me, award shows are kinda like the Superbowl. I'll occasionally tune into the award shows to check out the red carpet, and I'll occasionally tune in to the Superbowl to check out the commercials. As far as the actual events go, I can read online the next day who won, so I really have no interest. [#TALU]

  10. Love the blue and black you're wearing today.
I've watched pretty much all of the award shows so far this year. I've always loved seeing the "movie stars" and musical artists...watch them walk the red carpet, their fashions, and the excitement of who will win and their acceptance speeches.

  11. So cute and casual ... perfect for weather and the turquoise makes your peepers pop! (In the best way, of course!)
I'm an Oscars devotee. But sad I didn't get to see many of the films this year. It's 40 miles to the nearest theatre, and they are hopeless hillbillies in the choice of films. Won't get to see "Quartet" in this lifetime at our movie house, and am waiting for other-media release.
I did get a nifty Oscar app for my tablet, so I'll get a bit of keeping up via that.
    Have a great week!

  12. I really did love that blue sweater and totally brought out and popped the blue in your eyes. In my youth, I would have loved to be a fashion designer and lving a bit vicariously through you and your post!! (#TALU)

  14. I'm not huge on awards shows. I like to see what everyone is wearing, and will watch one if there's nothing else on, but I rarely watch one from start to finish. I don't have anything against them, they're just not really my thing. I do like to hear about any drama that happened, though!

    Cute pictures :)
